Restorative yoga helps bring the body into “repair mode” by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system, also known as the “rest and digest” system.
During this retreat, we’ll begin with a pranayama practice (breathing exercises) followed by a short, but very sweet, gentle Vinyasa flow to stretch, and strengthen, and warm-up the body. Then, restorative yoga and meditation.
With the use of props (bolsters, blankets, blocks), we’ll hold restorative poses for approximately 5-10 minutes to passively open the body and induce relaxation. We’ll finish with a full, guided meditation (done while lying in Savasana) for even deeper relaxation and a powerful, mind-body cleansing experience.
