Journaling prompts, topics and ideas to help express your thoughts, reach your goals, and to help create a deeper self awareness and a mindset of clarity.
Another month of journaling prompts to inspire a daily journaling habit.
Journaling is a catalog of our thoughts and feelings that can give us incredible insight into ourselves. When we process our experiences through writing, we’re better able to see our emotions, circumstances, and desires with complete coherence.
TIPS FOR CREATING A JOURNALING PRACTICE
- Incorporate journaling into your morning ritual
- You don’t have to use full sentences. Leo Babauta of Zen Habits, writes in bullets with 2-6 bullet points daily depending on the day.
- Combine work and personal journal topics
- Use the habit tracker as a daily reminder
- Don’t skip more than 2 days and try to go back to catch up
- Scroll to the bottom of this post for more journaling resources
I challenge you to journal regularly for 30 days, to begin making journaling a habit. That doesn’t mean you have to write every single day. Maybe begin with regularly journaling 3 to 4 times a week.

What a great post on self care! So important these days now more than ever!
These are wonderful prompts! I truly believe that we can change our mindset and attitude at any given point by simply choosing to focus on the positive and good things in life. These prompts certainly encourage that. Thank you for sharing!
Journaling is wonderful and helpful in so many situations. I have so many journals – I even had some printed with my blog logo – and still I take notes on individual sheets and then I have all this clutter…maybe I should have a journal on journals….
I go through my phases with journaling, but I always feel better after I’ve written a few things down. I usually turn to it when I’m feeling overwhelmed with any emotion – good or bad – but I know it’s also a great way just to get your thoughts onto paper, and to ensure that you don’t forget the small details of your life that meant a lot to you at the time.
Wow, this is a ton of useful information! I used to Zen doodle, but now I have two babies. It’s so hard for me to keep track of journaling!
Such great inspiration! I always love journal using different topics!
Self-care is so important and often so overlooked! I used to struggle with the idea, because it made me worry if self-care was some form of vanity. But it really is so necessary. You can’t pour from an empty cup, so you have to take care of yourself to care for others!
I love writing prompts! We all need some self-care. 🙂
I think it’s wonderful that you put these together. They are a great way to get people journaling.
This is such a fantastic idea. I’ve wanted to journal for years, but could never figure out where I wanted to start. Unlike blogging, it’s super personal and I’ve found it is oddly difficult for me to write down my life on that intimate of a level. These prompts are a perfect balance.
This is great. I wanted challenge myself to do 30 days of journaling and meditation. These prompts will definitely be very helpful.
I love that quote from Jean Shinoda Bolen! A promise I made to myself this year is to be more mindful of my emotional and mental and spiritual well being and journaling helps so much. Self care is a priority and I wish more and more people incorporate this into their daily lives to avoid burnout. Lovely read! Sharing this on twitter 🙂
I love this, sometimes we really forget to take care of ourselves. Thank you so much for sharing
LOVE the reminder to love thyself as much as anybody in the world! Something that I really believe in and also constantly remind myself.
I’m so happy that self-care is coming into fashion. It’s a trend that we should all get back into, even if it’s making time to spend an hour on a quiet walk without distraction.
Journaling is such a great self care tool and you have some awfully amazing resources. Thank you for sharing them for free!
Such a lovely thing to do. I sure would love to journal each day. Need to read into this more 🙂
I used to journal and it helped me so much but I never have time for it these days! I never thought of using bullets and now I am excited to try this and get into journaling again! Thank you for sharing the list of topics to write about because I can get lost in my own thoughts so easily!
I love all of these journal prompts! Such great inspiration!
These are great ideas! Self-care is so important and a great way to start your day!
Journalling seems like a great morning routine! Love this post
