One week ago today I started yoga teacher training. It’s going to be an amazing journey. More so than I ever imagined. It’s going to push me outside of my comfort zone mentally and challenge me physically. I have a feeling I’m going to learn as much about myself as I’m going to learn about yoga.
The unintentional journey I started about a year and a half ago has traveled a path of twists, turns, discoveries and reflections. YTT is not the destination of this personal journey. It’s a path within the journey that I am destined to travel.
There is a point to all of this. Promise.
About a year ago I added a few yoga blogs to my daily reading list. I’ve added a few more since then and I continue to read almost all of them daily. Blogs that have inspired, educated and have helped guide this journey.
Yogi Approved – Articles, videos, inspiration and advice on everything yogi.
Yoganonymous – Yoga music, yoga lifestyle, featured yoga teachers and more. Yoganonymous is all things yoga.
Yoga By Candace – Candace has made her passion for yoga a lifestyle. If I have a question about a specific pose, this is often where I start my search.
The Journey Junkie – This is a place for you to find inspiration and then weave into your personal practice of life – YOUR JOURNEY! Allie inspires me. I love everything about this blog.
Elephant Journal – Wonderful writers and content that covers everything from wellness and love to humor and, of course, yoga.
Do You Yoga – Stay up to date on yoga, meditation, healthy living and just about everything else a yogi would want. Join the community with hundreds of thousands from all over the world and discover yoga together.
Yoga Journal – You might be familiar with the popular magazine, Yoga Journal. This is the online counterpart. If you had to pick one yoga blog to read it should be this one. With articles on poses, meditation, philosophy, and lifestyle, and you can even search yoga poses by therapeutic applications (how cool is that?). I can see why Yoga Journal is the world’s leading website on yoga and yoga lifestyle.
The Yoga Blog – The art of yoga goes beyond beautiful asanas. The Yoga Blog shares the painful and playful ways Yogis dance, create, heal, love, and live their truth.
This is in no way an all inclusive list of yoga blogs. The list could easily go on and on. Feel free to add you favorite to the list in the comments below.

This blog has inspired me to start my own blog. I loved the way you described your experiences throughout.
I’m a member of the Do Yo Yoga editorial team so I’m glad to see it made your list! I’ve also contributed to many of the other sites and I read their content often as well. What can I say–I’m a content whore! Good luck to you on your YTT! What an amazing journey!
Writing a good blog is an art. You’re doing some great work here. Keep it up.
You blog is truly great. It has developed another feeling of motivation in me to begin my very own setup. I simply cherish the way you depicted everything. In the wake of understanding this online journal I think anybody can accomplish what they need.
Love Do You Yoga and YBC!
Great list! I love Yoga by Candace and Do you Yoga.com! I need to check out some of the others!
Good luck with your yoga teacher training, I hope to do it someday too.
Love Yoga by Candace. She is just putting out amazing content continually. I wish I had the time to do what she does! Thanks for this great list, Jill!
Best of luck on your personal journey with yoga! I’ve been trying to get more active this year and yoga is something I’ve always wanted to do. I tend to get really cluttered and want to find some balance in the chaos! I’ll have to bookmark these for inspiration once I get further into my yoga journey. 🙂

This is a great list. I have never done yoga, but i’d love to try it. I will bookmark this for future reference.
Very cool! I haven’t gotten into yoga yet but it sounds like I need to. I will check out these blogs and subscribe to yours. Thanks so much!
I do yoga occasionally but I really want to get more into it. These could definitely help
I need all the inspiration I can get! It is so hard for me to stay focused and keep exercising!
Good luck on your yogi journey! These look like awesome resources.
The one kind of blog I don’t read enough of right now – yoga. And my practice is in the same state, almost non-existent. Not because I don’t want to practice. This girl is just broke and time constrained. I wish yoga at home got me the same enlightenment and grounding but it just doesn’t 🙁
I completed a yoga teacher training! I was such a wonderful experience. The teacher was amazing and very motivational.
More yoga for me this year!
I’ve never done yoga, but few of my friends do, but I know some basic move is also use for physical therapy for those who has back pain problem.
I really want to try yoga as a way of getting my fitness back on track. It is meant to be really good for the mind too.
I love yoga journal, of course, but I also like Elephant journal! I”m going to check out some of the others.
Good luck with the training! I hope you succeed. Your selection is great
I love yoga! I’m definitely going to have to check out some of these sites. Thanks for the list! 🙂
These blogs are all new to me. I’ll have to check some of them out!
Congratulations on your first week of training being completed! It sounds like such a challenging and fun journey.
I read mostly running or motherhood and faith blogs. I feel like I jump around so much because I read whoever is joining up with the link-ups 🙂 There are so many great blogs out there – yours being one of them!
Thanks for the links, always good to find inspiration.
I’ve never tried yoga but my friend swears by it, I must send this link for the days that she needs extra motivation 🙂
I am definitely showing these blogs to my best friend. I am not a fan of yoga, but she recently fell in love with it and is even attending a SOBE Food & Wine Festival Yoga event!! Thank you for sharing you favorites!
That’s so exciting how you’re beginning this journey as a yoga instructor. I am always so impressed by those who are able to teach it. I’m definitely can’t consider myself yogi, but I thoroughly enjoy it whenever I get the chance.
Thanks for the links. I can’t wait to check them out! Good luck with your training!
Wow what an awesome party! I always love to party with you each week! All the best, Deborah
I miss my daily yoga practice! Was easier to find time before kids. Thanks for sharing!
I haven’t read these blogs before, so nice to have some new ones to check out! I have been getting into yoga more lately and really enjoying it!
What a great resource! Thanks, friend!
I wasn’t aware of any of these blogs, but I’m bookmarking this for future use 🙂 Yoga has been absent in my life for far too long now and one of my goals for this year is to bring it back. I also just recently purchased the Yoga book/journal, Wanderlust and I’m excited to start making my way slowly through it. Good luck on your new endeavour! That’s very exciting!
I love Christine over at Love, LIfe, Surf. She talks about yoga, running and mommyhood. And there’s alway Yoga with Adriene. She provides some awesome practices right on youtube.
Love do you yoga! That is the only one I have heard of though, thank you so much!! I’m a runner and I know yoga would benefit me so so much, so I’m trying to get into it! I always love it when I go to classes, it’s just a matter of fitting it into my schedule 🙂
I’m not familiar with any of these. Thanks for sharing them!
I have started incorporating yoga into my regimen as I am training for my second marathon. I like Sublimely Fit’s Yoga for Runners blog and I just discovered Yoga with Adriene videos on YouTube! Thanks for sharing others to check out and good luck in your training.
I just don’t seem to find the time to read blogs regularly. Yes, I have those lists like feedly that serve me up the latest posts but then I just stop looking a t them. I don’t know why…
How interesting! Yoga training is definitely on my to-do list at some point! I’d love to hear more about your journey.
I don’t know any of these blogs yet! I feel so out of the loop. I know I will have extra time this weekend so hope to check some out
I don’t read any of these blogs so I will check a couple of them out! Yoga is the best thing I have added to my week. I love it! TGIF! Enjoy the training 🙂
Yoga is something that I haven’t done in far too long. I find it difficult to fit in with all my other fitness activities. But I always am inspired by yogis, their poses are so beautfiul.
Believe it or not, the other day I was thinking about your blog and how the tone of it has changed. When it was about running, it was a different energy than now. Now when I come here I find it very soothing and calming (not that before it wasn’t). But I can tell your journey is going a different path– more of overall wellness and happiness than just running. And I started noticing this after you really got into yoga. And I love it! As for yoga blogs I read I love Yoga Girl because Rachel Brathen is one tough inspiring cookie. And love reading Curvy Yoga. As for everything else, most of the blogs I follow are health, fitness and food.
Some great yoga blogs I need to check out here! I do love Yoga by Candace and Do You Yoga!
I didn’t know most of these! Thanks for enlightening me and for hosting!
I am so excited to start doing yoga again. I stopped practicing 1 week after my injury, so it has been nearly 3 months!
Oh how I love ELEPHANT JOURNAL!
Too many of the others are new to me.
I need to get with it and on it….
Good luck in your yoga practice. I just started taking yoga regularly in late 2015 in fell in love with it. It is a challenge for me and it’s frustrating but I also love that this challenging because it makes me more determined to stick with it. Being a runner it has helped opened my hips up just uber the few months j have taken it. I picked up the Yoga Journal for the first time this past weekend and knew unwound have to subscribe!
