Goals 2016

Good morning fitfam! I’m so happy to see everyone.

Before we talk about today’s topic, it is with a sad heart that today is the last Fit Dish with Jess. I understand and fully support Jess in her future endeavors and wish her nothing but huge success.  I will always consider Jess a person that came into my life for a reason. I will always consider her a friend.

What does that mean for the Fit Dish? I’m not 100% sure yet. So, for the time being, nothing will change. I have a few things in the works that will impact the future of the Fit Dish along with the rest of the week at Jill Conyers | Fitness Health & Happiness.

While a few things remain undecided there are also a few things I know for sure. My heart tells me this isn’t the end of the Fit Dish, but a new beginning bright with change, growth and love of the community we have built.

While I’m mulling over ideas and making plans with a focus on the future I would love to know….

What would you like to see happen to the Fit Dish? Do you think it’s the right time to bring it to an end? Should the #fitfam continue to get together every week? Maybe a new co-host?

Now. Lets chat about 2016.

Have you started thinking about the new year? Making any plans?

I love the energizing feeling of an upcoming new year with endless possibilities and unexpected journeys!

With all that said, this year is a little lot different for me with goal setting.

What I really want is simply to just…

I want to find a balance between a goal driven personality and a heart felt need to just BE. I want to find a balance between having the razor sharp focus of quantifiable goals with thriving and an openness to unexpected journeys and opportunities. Just breathe...

I want to find a balance between a goal driven personality and a heart felt need to just BE. I want to find a balance between having the razor sharp focus of quantifiable goals with thriving and an openness to unexpected journeys and opportunities.

Over the past year it was the unexpected journeys that brought me the most joy, peace and wholeness.

So, no, I don’t know what my goals for the new year will be [yet].

Although not having goals set by this time of year goes against a big part of who I am, the person I have become is totally ok with it.

It’s a good thing I like change because there’s a whole lot of it going on! Change is good, right?

 Next week’s [OPTIONAL] topic:

We’re going to dish about Instagram!

Two things:

  • Include a clickable link to your Instagram so we all can visit and follow.
  • Top 5 (or however many you want to share) Instagram accounts to follow. Who are they? What do they share? Why do you recommend we follow?

be the best version of YOU

Do you embrace change? What is at the very top of your goal list? Have you always had yearly goals or is this something new you’re trying this year?

As for 2016 goals, I haven’t reeealllyyyy thought about them yet! Certain races keep popping into my head, but overall, I want to find more focus for the things that truly matter, and take focus off the things that don’t…like the pile of clothes that need to be folded when my kids are begging me to just play. Because playtime is more important, right? That sort of thing.

  2. I can’t believe that it’s already time to make goals for the new year. I’m so excited to plan this for the year!! Love you Jill and I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for you!!

  3. good morning Jill! wow the fate of the #fitdish ? Can you still manage both projects? What would be different? I take the time between Chritmas and New Year to work on my goals – XO

  4. I just finished planning my 2016 and you’re totally right!! I do hope you’ll keep the link-up, but I know how much time and effort you must put into it, too!!

  5. I’ve been pondering my goals for 2016 and am trying to make room for just “being”. I love being active and racing but I also learned this year that I need to leave room for the unexpected. The races that get added, the blogging conference I went to unexpectedly. if I pack my life now for 2016, I’ll miss out on some great moments with friends and family, too. Thanks for the great thought provoking post!

  6. Love this , Jill. I think with any new business endeavors and life changes, it’s always tough to balance the #girlboss goals and just personal time. I’m definitely still working through what that will look like for 2016, which is why I have yet to announce my goals. Still mulling things over!

  7. I’m a super goals oriented person too, so I see where you’re coming from next year! I should add “breathe” to my list too… 🙂

  8. Goal for 2016 for me: survive having a baby and settle into seeing myself as a mom. And therefore I literally have NO other goals! Lol. I guess technically I do plan on passing my NASM early January and doubling my coaching clients. Aside from those two hard and fast things, I’m fine with leaving next year open to growth, new opportunities, and I find myself totally embracing change more now too. I’m no longer AS afraid of reinventing, of shutting one thing down in order to move on to the next thing, and experimenting a little. I am tired of spending time on “shoulds” and other obligations that no longer carry meaning for me. But that’s me. I’m sure you’ll have an amazing new year and will accomplish a lot regardless of whether or not you had clearly defined goals by Day 1. You’re just a force always in pursuit – so I hope you are able to pursue your best, even if it includes a long and glorious season of “just being”. Excited to see what’s ahead for you.

  9. It’s funny, because I usually have goals already set to go and as of right now, I have no idea what they are going to be!! It actually feels good in a way, but at the same time, I’m stressed without having a direction to head. Does that make sense?

  10. There’s nothing wrong with not setting any specific goals, Jill. Sometimes, like you said, we just need time to breathe and focus on everything going on in our lives.

  12. You do such a wonderful job with The Fit Dish, Jill, although I completely understand if it’s too much for one person to take on. Whatever decision you make, I’m sure it will be the right one. Can’t wait to see what 2016 has in store for you–you have accomplished SO MUCH in 2015! 🙂

  13. I definitely support keeping the link up! It’s a great way for people to network and find more like-minded blogger friends. I for one am just coming back from a looooong hiatus and want to get back into the community. Nothing better than an inspirational fit-fam!!

PS: I definitely need to start organizing my thoughts regarding 2016 goals. Starting with a new word!! 🙂

  14. I think it’s a great link up. Truthfully, I don’t link up often because I forget about it. 🙁 However, I love reading everyone else’s weekly posts.

  15. I do hope the Fit Dish link-up keeps rolling! It has grown to be one of my favorites 🙂

Maybe to take less of the topic-choosing pressure off you, fellow Fit Dish’ers could throw out topics for you to choose from in the future weeks? I have never hosted a link-up before but I’m guessing a lot of planning/time is involved! If we can help with some of the details, I’m in!

I’m in a similar place with life and goals – trying to find the balance between goal-crushing and just enjoying the now.

  16. Goal setting, my exact topic for thought today. Excited to see what the New Year has in store for me & you too:)

  18. I sooo need to find balance next year. I’m running ragged taking care of my toddler and blogging. Little time for rest/relaxation and just doing NOTHING. Thanks for the great reminder. Mental health is just as important as physical health!

  19. Noooo! This is my favorite fitness linkup in existence! :[ I hope it does stick around in some way, shape or form though! <3 I love that I've gotten to know so many bloggers through it!
