Very Berry Smoothie Bowl

Healthy Smoothie Bowl Recipe

It's been way too long since I've invited everyone over, so how about a workout and smoothie bowls? My house? Sound good? The workout will be a round of my first created-by-me bootcamp. Then, delicious and refreshing smoothie bowls. Do you think you can make it?

Good morning. I think I start almost every post with good morning, right? Well, it is good. I never have a bad morning. I can’t always say that for the rest of the day because, well, life happens, but mornings I can count on.

How is everyone doing? Wonderful I hope.

Is it me or do you feel like summer is winding down? I’m sure it has a lot to do with going back to work after the most amazing summer break. I don’t want to wish summer away, but I’m ready for fall. I’m ready for the change of seasons and I’m ready for, dare I say it this early, pumpkin.

  1. Yay! Smoothie bowls are my favorite! 😀 I love Sambazon’s smoothie packs–my mom sent me several packs through a snowstorm (from CA to WV), so they were actually still cold and partially frozen when they got to me! <3

    1. That is hilarious! Reminds me of the time I ran in the winter and my water bottles froze.

  4. 1) I’ve never tried acai and 2) I’ve never tried a smoothie bowl. I really need to! Where does one buy acai? Super market? I’ll let you know when I whip up my own smoothie bowl!

    1. Hi Patty. I buy the smoothie packets at Whole Foods. Can’t wait to hear how you like your smoothie in a bowl.

  5. it’s never too early for pumpkin! I can’t wait. WIll you make us a pumpkin smoothie bowl soon? Love this bowl of goodness!

  6. Yum! I don’t typically like coconut water but I’ve never tried it in a smoothie. I’m now off to make breakfast because you’ve got my stomach growling =)

    1. You should try it Cristina! It’s so good and sometimes you just need a spoon with your smoothie 🙂

  7. That looks yummy! I love granola or cereal in my yogurt type foods.

    1. Granola is one of my favorite toppings for yogurt and smoothie bowls! Do you have a favorite brand or make your own?

  8. It didn’t feel like much of a summer this year. Much rain, not enough hot days. I enjoy smoothies after a weekend workout.

    1. Hi Cassi. Have you ever tried a smoothie bowl? Sometimes you just need a spoon haha!

  9. WELL AS YOU KNOW – I’M WEIRD and eat my food cold 99.9% of the time 🙂 BUT I have yet to have a smoothie “bowl” is it simply the same as a smoothie but in a different container – or do these come out thicker? it’s never too soon for pumpkin my friend <3

    1. You’re a little weird in the cutest best possible way! A smoothie bowl is a thicker smoothie. You must try it 🙂

    1. It’s awesome Kathryn! Make sure it’s thick enough so you can add the toppings. Let me know if you try it 🙂

  10. Summer isn’t over for me either because we have one more vacation left at the end of August- hooray. I love the idea of a smoothie bowl. In the summer I miss my oatmeal because sometimes it is just too hot and this is a great substitution.

    1. Hi Hollie. I agree. Oatmeal for me is mostly a winter and fall breakfast or snack. Although, smoothies, I drink a smoothie a day all year long.

    1. You must try it Deborah! So yummy and packed full of nutrition. Let me know what you think!

  11. yummm Jill!! This looks so good. Acai is one of my favorite ‘superfoods’ to add to a smoothie. the taste is so unique!
and sadly yes summer does feel like its slowly ending… the sun goes down earlier in the day now which is the worst part for me!

    1. Shorter days isn’t one of my favorite things about fall. Otherwise I love all it. The taste of acai is very unique. At first I had a hard time using it in recipes. Happily it’s no longer a problem.

  12. I’m in, Jill! I’ll take a little extra crunchy granola on my smoothie bowl 🙂 This is the first time I have heard of a smoothie “bowl” and I love it. It’s kinda like a yogurt parfait? Granola added on yogurt is my favorite and I think it’s a nice touch to this smoothie bowl, too! I’m not pumped about summer being over soon, but bring on the pumpkin!!!

    1. Hi Amy. Granola is one of my favorite toppings. It’s kind of like a parfait without the yogurt. Of course you could always add a dollop of yogurt on top. I bet that would be yummy! It’s an extra thick smoothie. A nice alternative to the traditional glass because sometimes you just need a spoon. Let me know if you try it and how you like it.

  13. It’s hard for me to think about summer ending when it is in the 100’s in Texas…LOL! I did a few recipes for pumpkin on Pinterest and I am not ready for the pumpkin invasion. I love berry smoothies after a workout. They are the best way to cool down and nourish my body! 🙂

    1. Smoothies and workouts go hand in hand. Nourish the mind body and soul with hot yoga and smoothies/bowls.

    1. Hi Chrissa. I’m a co-host with Jessica for Dish the Fit. So happy to meet you. I’ve tried a lot of plant based protein powders and Skoop is absolutely the best I’ve ever tried. I would say that even if I wasn’t an ambassador 🙂

      #fitfamlove xoxo

    1. Me too! With Skoop of course. The bowl is a nice alternative. Sometimes you just need a spoon 🙂

    1. You have to try it. Especially if you like traditional smoothies. Sometimes you just need a spoon 🙂

      Have a fantastic day Leah!

  24. Yum! Smoothie bowls are so good – it’s the coolness of a smoothie but the satisfaction of eating something with a spoon. Almost like healthy cereal!

  25. I showed this to my hubby, a berry-lover and he loves the recipe. We never tried placing granola in a berry shake, so this is definitely a must-try!

  26. This bowl looks delicious and YES, it’s too soon to talk pumpkin…although I KNOW you have plenty of great fall recipes for us!! Have a great day Jill!!

  32. Pumpkin reminds me of when my little pumpkin will be here so I’m all about it! I can’t wait to meet her 🙂 As for the changing seasons, I feel like we’re kind of having that already. Our temps have been so weird but lately in the 70s instead of 90s. Maybe fall is coming early!

    1. Hi Heather. My dad used to call me pumpkin. haha I know I probably read it but when are you due? I’m so happy and excited for you!

Same here with the unseasonable temps but I’m not complaining.
