10 Things To Do With Purpose In 10 Minutes

Be purposeful in how you spend the time in your day.  Even if it’s just 10 minutes, make the most of it. If you need to relax, then do just that.  Silence your phone, sit outside, read a book or take a walk.  Don’t multi-task. Just let yourself relax. Whatever you decide to do with the 10 minutes give it your undivided attention and focus.  The focus of the 10 minutes isn’t checking off a to-do list, getting things done or how much can I squeeze into 24 hours. The focus is using 10 minutes with purpose.

Another week of motivation, support and encouragement with the fitfam! Hanging out with you guys is always such a pleasure.

Yes, life is busy, but Jess and I always have time to say thank you for spending Tuesday with us every week!

I have a before my daughter wakes up to-do list because after she wakes up the day is hers. I’m sure she won’t leave a minute to spare. So, ironically, I don’t have an extra 10 minutes at the moment so I’m going to get right to it.

Have you ever finished something earlier than expected? Or, maybe, you’re dressed and ready for work with 10 minutes to spare before you have to leave. What do you do with those 10 minutes?

  1. Hang out with your kids
  2. Read
  3. Meditate
  4. Blog tasks
  5. Clean out email
  6. Update my to-do list or plan for the next day
  7. Take a walk
  8. Write in a journal
  9. Watch a sunrise or sunset
  10. Social media daily checklist tasks

We all have small amounts of “spare” time in our day. Use that time with purpose and intention. You might be surprised by how much you can accomplish in very little time.

This week is a little extra special! Jess and I have a chance to meet some of the fitfam in real life. How cool is that?

  1. Something I need to do more often is take walks. I run every day but I think walks are perfect for just reflecting and taking time to catch up with a friend (or my mom in this case).

  6. What a great take on the topic for this week’s link up. These are all great ideas and I feel like at times we are always so rushed that we don’t take the time to just enjoy 10 minutes. I know for me personally, it’s a great time for me to catch up on emails or more specifically clean out my inbox. Other times, if I have extra time before work, if there are dirty dishes still in the sink I like to get those cleaned. For me leaving for work with a “clean” house always puts me in a good mood.   7. This is such smart tips, ten minutes WITH purpose, I like to do work in intervals of uninterrupted time, but ten minutes is a great amount to do one or two tasks 🙂

  8. I love how you specified doing these things with purpose. Sometimes I find myself willy-nilly checking social media, and then I’m like “Oh, you could be doing something productive with this social media time.” Thanks for the suggestions!

  9. I love this, it’s very much my style. I’m always trying to make every minute count, and I don’t like feeling like time is “wasted.” Including meditation in there is great too!

  11. Oh man, 10 minutes is sacred time! I usually catch up with my social media accounts, or clean out my email inbox when I have a few minutes to spare. But my favorite 10 minutes spent is going on a walk with my husband and fur baby, Deacon!

  21. For me it’s always to meditate or write in my journal. Those two things are most important but always seem to fall by the wayside, which isn’t good!

  24. I love this! If I had an extra 10 minutes in the day I’d make sure I had a dance party with my kids! Actually, I am going to make that a priority every day…. they are only little once. Great post!

  28. I love to foam roll when I have a few minutes. Calves and hamstrings are really tight right now but usually it’s my upper back.

    1. Hi Michelle. Living with intention is the only way I have found to minimize “wastes” of time. The waste can happen so easily.
