This time of year my treadmill becomes my bet friend. We spend a lot of miles and time together.
I’m teaming up with Michele aka NYC Running Mama and other runners to bring you a variety of treadmill reviews. You can check out the other reviews throughout the week or share your own at NYC Running Mama.
Year Purchased: 2013
Cost: It was a Valentine’s Day gift from my husband (benefit of being married to a runner) so I don’t know the cost. Currently $1299 on Amazon.
Length = 80 inches
Width = 36 inches
Height = 73.5 inches
Weight capacity = 350 pounds
Weight = 256 pounds
Speed: Varying speeds ranging from 0 to 12 MPH allowing for a lot of variability in your workout.
Incline/Decline: The incline/decline options for the Pro 2000 is one of my favorite features. The incline range goes up to 15%, and the decline goes down to -3%.
Ease of Set Up: As far as big heavy treadmills go (and this is both), with 2 people the Proform Pro 2000 was easier to set up than I expected.
Storage: If needed, to save space when you’re not using the treadmill you can easily fold the running deck away up to about a 70 degree angle, so you will not have the large footprint of the machine taking up space when it is not in use.
Built In Workout Programs: You get 24 workout programs built in targeting a variety of goals: 6 calorie burn programs, 6 incline programs, 6 speed programs and 6 intensity programs.
iFit Compatibility: The Pro 2000 comes with iFit compatibility which is linked up with Google MAPS, giving you have the ability to design your own training courses from anywhere in the world practically. You can then upload the details via the wireless adapter and run to any route you want. You can also track your efforts for each workout you do, and you can upload these to your iFit membership account (you get this free when you buy the adapter). A nice option for keeping track of your progress.
Console: You can access all of the features very quickly and make any changes you need to make to programs and incline etc. with the touch of a button. The large backlit display is readable no matter what angle you are facing it and all of the information shown on the display is very clear and easy to read. You can plug in your iPod or MP3 player into the console to play your music through the built in sound system.
Other features: 2 cup/bottle holders, fan, and easily position your ipad to watch TV, movies or listen to podcasts
Maintenance: No maintenance required with 2 years of regular use by 2 .
Final Thoughts: Other than preferring to run outside I have no complaints about the Proform 2000. It gives me the option of not having to miss a run due to weather (which happens often during the winter) and if I’m running before the sun comes up. It has everything I need, and more, for a great workout.
