I have a habit of eating A LOT of my favorite seasonal foods. Cherries, strawberries and avocado were on my grocery list every week during the spring.

So, when the seasons change I’m not disappointed my favorites are no longer at the farmer’s market. It’s time for a change and I’m ready for the fruits and veggies of the new season.

On the Menu

Breakfast:
Protein Pancakes
Overnight Oats → my favorite long run fuel
Smoothies

Lunch/Dinner:
Squash with Homemade Pasta Sauce
Crockpot Fajitas → love the convenience of crockpot cooking
Tortilla Soup
Big Green Salad
Grilled Veggie Sandwiches
Crockpot Zucchini and Chicken

Snacks:
Smoothies
Skooped Yogurt and Fruit
Cinnamon Apple Chips with Cinnamon Yogurt Dipping Sauce

  1. I love butternut squash, it’s just so hard for me to cut with my hands that have been damaged by Rheumatoid Arthritis. I’m joining your linkup for the first time this week, glad to have found you!

  2. I do like to eat with the seasons, especially now that I live somewhere that has all four seasons. Now that it’s fall, I’m eating more apples (although I do eat those year round), pears, and lots of root vegetables (carrots, parsnips, beets, and sweet potatoes).

I’ve been craving smoothies lately this Fall…Not that there is that much of a change in the Texas temperatures, but it’s funny how I go so long without having a smoothie and then all of a sudden BAM. I used to eat lots of kabocha squash, but lately it hasn’t been too kind to my tummy, so I taking a break from that. And I am absolutely loving crisp apples and pears right now. 🙂

  4. YES and YES! i love fruits and vegetables that are in season – more flavorful and less expensive! double win! and smoothies all the time for sure!

  5. Fall is definitely my favorite produce season – squash and apples alone are enough for me! So eating seasonal happens naturally for me in the fall.

  7. Yes, I love eating seasonal foods but I do miss the fresh berries and summer veggies. Actually, we can get them all year round in Florida, but they are so expensive. I tend to buy more frozen berries in the winter months.

  9. I didn’t in the past, but now I make baby food for Zoe, so I started. Love it!

  10. it’s time for tortilla soup and more apples! yes! and i totally forgot about quince, haha yay!

  11. I’ve definitely got the seasonal fall bug right now! Squash (of all sorts) are sounding better each day. Cold salads and smoothies don’t even appeal to me.

  12. I love a lot of fall produce which makes it easier to eat seasonal foods this time of year! I usually just buy things that’s look good in the grocery store (and it helps when they are on sale!) Lately the pears and apples have been great!
