Daily Practice of Gratitude

Daily Practice of Gratitude jillconyers.com #quote #brenebrown #gratitude #joy #extraordinarylife

Gratitude (noun) the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.

A few weeks ago I started a morning ritual that is basically how I spend 15 minutes first thing in the morning before computer, texts, emails and workout. And, I never thought I would say these words about my morning, before coffee. It’s becoming my favorite part of the day.

Be present. Be grateful for the things that make life extraordinary!

One of the things I do as part of my morning ritual is journal. Just a few sentences expressing my thoughts or an idea and adding to an ongoing gratitude list.

Without exception, every person I interviewed who described living a joyful life or who described themselves as joyful, actively practiced gratitude and attributed their joyfulness to their gratitude practice.
Brene Brown, The Gifts of Imperfection

Don’t let the little things go unnoticed. Feel AND express gratitude as a regular practice and you will see your life is extraordinary.

Today I am grateful for:

  • my husband not totally understanding what he sees as impractical, but supporting me anyway (I know it’s not easy for him)
  • listening to my daughter laugh and without needing to see her I know her nose is scrunched up
  • early mornings
  • the cool crisp feeling of fall weather
  • juicy and sweet Honey Crisp apples
  • being outside
  • blogging friends

What makes your life extraordinary? What fills your heart with joy?

be the best version of YOU
