I’ve added Hemp Hearts to recipes for the past few years. The nutritional benefits are many and the flavor and crunch adds a new twist to basics like salads, soups and smoothies.

5 Benefits of Hemp Hearts

  • All 20 amino acids, including the 9 essential amino acids (EAAs) our bodies cannot produce.
  • A high protein percentage of the simple proteins that strengthen immunity and fend off toxins.
  • Nature’s highest botanical source of essential fatty acid.
  • A perfect 3:1 ratio of Omega-6 Linoleic Acid and Omega-3 Linolenic Acid – for cardiovascular health and general strengthening of the immune system.
  • A superior vegetarian source of protein considered easily digestible.

Sprinkle on top of salads, cereal or yogurt. Add hemp hearts to baking, or just eat them right out of the bag.

Fruit and Yogurt with a Seed and Cinnamon Topping jillconyers.com #nutrition #nourish #eatclean #recipe #glutenfree

For a nutrient dense and flavorful boost to a snack of yogurt and fruit try this.

Crunchy Flavorful Seeds and Cinnamon (makes 1 serving):

  • 1 teaspoon hemp hearts
  • 1 teaspoon ground flax
  • 1 teaspoon chia
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

For the fruit and yogurt snack:

Combine 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt and 2 tablespoons protein powder (I use Skoop B Strong). Mix well. Add the 1/4 cup fresh blueberries and top with the seed and cinnamon mixture.

Manitoba Harvest is also offering a 5 lb bag of Hemp Hearts (yes, 5 LBS) to one lucky winner.
