In June of 2011 I started my search for optimal nutrition. Clean eating, vegetarian, dairy free, vegan, gluten free…I’ve experimented with them all until I found what makes me look, feel and perform my best! I can even tell a difference in my hair, skin and nails. There is a quote in the book, “Let’s be honest here; it’s you who decides what you eat.” When it comes down to it I am the expert on what I should eat. This book is a culmination of all the changes I’ve made, all that I’ve learned and how I feel. The perfect book for the nutrition nerd and athlete all rolled into one.
A cookbook that is so much more!
I’m a huge fan of the philosophy behind Lorna Jane Active so when I was given the opportunity to review the new NOURISH The Fit Woman’s Cookbook I was ecstatic!
Not only do you get breakfast, smoothie, lunch, snack, juice and dinner recipes. You also get nutrition information, inspiration and even a meal plan to help you get started making changes and STOP DIETING. Earlier this week I talked about food photography. Well, this book is filled with pages and pages of beautiful food photos. See what I mean? This book is so much more than a cookbook.
The recipes are easy to follow and, for the most part, have basic easy-to-find ingredients with substitution suggestions for the ingredients that might not be found in your regular grocery store.
A few of my favorite recipes from NOURISH:

Great review! I’ll check the book out this weekend when I’m in the Malibu store to see Taryn Brumfitt!
That beauty tonic looks so good, I can’t wait to make that! There are so many great recipes in the cookbook that it’s hard to decide on which ones to make 🙂

The Beauty Tonic is amazing! It’s so good and refreshing. Let me know how you like it 🙂
I am so tempted to buy this cookbook right now!!
Me too Cassie. I love having the ebook but some books just need to be a hard copy 🙂
I have been thinking about getting this book when it comes out but honestly at $44 I personally think the price is pretty steep. That being said I have read really good reviews so I may have to keep it in mind.
When I saw the price I thought the same thing but after seeing it I would pay the $44. I still may just to have a hard copy 🙂
This cookbook looks amazing. I can’t wait to get my hands on it. The pics are beautiful!
Deborah it is amazing! I honestly love everything about this book.
I love when cookbooks offer colorful pics of the prepared food! Quite honestly if a cookbook doesn’t offer a picture of that particular recipe than I probably won’t make it. I will try to remember the twitter chat cause i’d love to win one of these books!
Hi Meranda, I almost always make the recipes with photos first and more often. I though it was just me 🙂 This book has serious food porn!
