I received a Klout Perk that was a box full of Fair Trade products. The products were great to try but the best part of the Klout Perk was learning more about Fair Trade. I had a general idea of the concept of Fair Trade but I had no idea the extent that farming families around the world are helped.
Did you know…
- everyday purchases can help families in 70 countries
- Fair Trade is helping moms in Rwanda buy their kids shoes so they can attend school
- Fair Trade gives expectant mothers in Ecuador safe working conditions and maternity leave
- farmers receive training and feedback to help grow products that meet the quality requirements of the global marketplace which increases their incomes and improves their communities
The idea of Fair Trade is when you purchase Fair Trade products the farmer receives a fair share for his or her hard work. This allows farmers around the world to keep their kids in school, bring medical care and clean water to their communities, and improve the quality of their products.
Look for the label.
