Lately I’ve been in a rut. In a rut with running routes, foods, strength training…the list goes on. What am I going to do about it? Change things up and try a lot of NEW!
This post was sponsored by Mix My Own. I received Mix My Own products in exchange of my honest review. As always all opinions are my own.
Food rut or not, Mix My Own Healthy Breakfast (and it’s a great snack too!) was a welcome unplanned addition to my menu last week. I’ve always loved muesli, oatmeal and granolas. The combination of flavors and textures has just always been a favorite. Well, Mix My Own takes muesli, oatmeal and granola a step further by giving you the choice of about 100 ingredients to create your own cereal. Or, if you prefer, you can choose a fabulous pre-mix. Either way you won’t be disappointed and you get the same good-for-you ingredients. I’ve tried both for breakfast, snacks and a dinner or 2 and both bags are almost gone.
Mix My Own allows me to customize my breakfast cereal and it has everything I look for in the foods I eat, 100% natural, organic and non-GMO, unprocessed, preservative-free and sugar-free. The prices are reasonable considering the good-for-you high quality organic ingredients used in every mix. And, I have to admit I like seeing Breakfast by Jill on the back of the bag!

Workout Recap for the Week
Workout rut buster? I changed from primarily P90X2 DVDs to Les Mills Body Pump and Tara Stiles yoga. I also ran different routes or routes I haven’t run in a while last week.
Menu planning rut? Last week’s menu plan didn’t go exactly as planned, not even close. So this week I’m trying almost all new recipes. As far as trial and error goes with creating recipes it’s not the best idea to do it throughout the work week, but what do I have to lose? It will be fun to change things up and if a recipe fails I can always make a salad or smoothie as Plan B.
