Vega provided me with Vega Bars. As always, all opinions are my own.
I do some of my best thinking when I’m running so yesterday, during my long run, I thought about what I wanted to share with reviewing the new Vega Bars. First, company loyalty came to mind and why I’ve used Vega products for more than 2 years and why Vega Sport Performance Protein is the only protein supplement I buy. Then, I thought about sharing a general overview of the bars, the types, flavors, nutrients, etc. along with the very cool Vega Bar images [see above].
Then, about mile 8, it hit me.
Vega’s got me covered!
I eat to run (or whatever my workout of the day is). Whether it’s fuel to start, sustain or recover, I have learned the hard way that fueling my body is key to performance and feeling great.
Vega Snack for on-the-go. I eat 5 times a day with a morning snack and lunch while I’m at work.
I’m notorious for underestimating how long errands will take and, not only that, you never know when something will come up. Whether it’s a bar or a bag of nuts and dried fruit, I’m never caught without a snack on hand. Another lesson learned.
Saturday my plan was a run and P90X3 afterward. I knew I would need to refuel in between. It was such a beautiful day, after my run I stayed outside to stretch and refuel. I was in heaven soaking up the sun!
After a long run yesterday my recovery was sitting outside [again] and the Vega Sport Protein Chocolate Mint bar. A great run with my husband, sunshine and chocolate? Perfection!
Vega products have all that I look for in the foods I eat. They taste great and provide my body with quality plant-based nutrients. Did I mention how yummy the Chocolate Mint Sport Energy bar is! It’s like a well earned treat!
That’s a lot to say about simply bars. The nutrition nerd and the athlete in me gets carried away!
True story. My daughter and I were at Whole Foods this weekend to grocery shop. While we were there I had conversations with 3 different people about the different varieties of greens and ways to cook them. While we were driving home my daughter laughed and said,
“You’re such a nerd. It’s a good thing that you’re already married because I don’t know anybody that would get why you’re so happy to talk about greens.”
Gotta love her.
