Family Time. Plans for Waffle Sunday.

Like many, family life is busy. So, I’m constantly thinking of new ideas for the 4 of us to spend time together and that includes meal times.  They don’t know it yet but I’ve been planning Waffle (or Pancake) Sunday! Sunday morning is a time when the 4 of us are almost always home and we all like pancakes and waffles. That’s a win-win right. A laid-back-slow-down kind of morning before the next week starts. Sounds good to me.

Part of the planning has been finding recipes. I looked for healthy “traditional” type waffle and pancake recipes along with a variety of new and different. The possibilities are endless and healthy doesn’t have to mean boring or tasteless!

  1. Yum! We love making pancakes or waffles on Saturdays! I will have to try out some of your higher-protein recipes, since my husband always complains about the sugar crash he gets from bread + syrup.

  3. Yum – yep, this definitely makes me hungry for breakfast food! Definitely will bookmark some of these recipes. I tend to always burn pancakes (not sure why) but luckily my favorite breakfast place has some of the best blueberry pancakes around – they are stuffed with fresh blueberries and have a blueberry butter on top – amazing stuff!

  6. I love pancakes and waffles (and throw some french toast in there too) but I’m SO picky, I only like my standard, plain ones. We have a belgian waffle maker and I make a big waffle breakfast every Sunday. We call it “Sunday Circles” …

  7. Yum! I can’t wait to try a few of those. I don’t have a waffle maker but pancakes are always a good idea.

  8. We have pancakes or waffles almost every weekend too. My 4-year-old asks my husband every morning, “Are you going to work, Daddy?” because he knows if he isn’t that it might be waffle day. Now we have a lot of fun new recipes to try out, thanks!!

  11. Ahhh too many to chose from! All look so delicious! I made Apple Cider Pancakes a few days ago….breaking out of my cereal rut, and loving it! So delicious! Maybe you could add that to your list once my post goes up in a few days? 🙂 Which one is your favorite of these so far?

  12. I make greek yogurt flaxseed pancakes as out GF option. They’re amazing! Hubs loves blueberries in his 😉
