A few days ago Miss Zippy asked what’s been your best run? While running this weekend I thought about the specific runs that ended with feeling like that was the best run ever! What was it about my best runs that made them best? A PR? A distance PR? A beautiful day? A strong run? Easy and relaxed? Or maybe it’s a run when you can wear shorts after months of winter running? Before the end of my run yesterday which; by the way, was another recent best run (recap later this week) I decided yes to all of these. There isn’t one thing that makes a best run best. Perhaps that is why we love it.
How can you not love something that can give you that BEST feeling in so many ways.
A recent best run was last week. After months of winter running, it was a beautiful day with blue skies instead of gray and the sun was shining. I was able to run in capris and a long sleeve top only! No multiple layers, no gloves or hat for warmth. And, this was one of my absolute best, strongest and most comfortable runs since transitioning to Newtons and natural running. It almost felt effortless and before I knew it the miles were done.
