What’s For Dinner Menu Planning || Thanksgiving Edition

Welcome to What’s for Dinner Menu Planning Week #8

The holiday season officially starts this week. I’m looking forward to time off from work, extra family time, enjoying the fall weather, running a Thanksgiving 10k with Chad and our annual mother-daughter Black Friday shopping.

On the menu for this week….

On the Thanksgiving menu…

This year will mark the first Conyers’ Vegan-Traditional Hybrid Thanksgiving Menu. Planning the menu was a family effort. Can you believe there wasn’t a single request for dessert [yet].

The winner of the Pop Chips giveaway is Amy Caine at Running Escapades!

What’s on your Thanksgiving menu? Do you go shopping on Black Friday? What are you most looking forward to this week?

  1. Well, we are going out on T-day so no cooking…. just 4 lazy & tired people! 😉 I have been sick as sick since last Thursday so I am looking forward to feeling better. Got that friggin influenza A strain & it is BAD! NO to shopping on Black Friday! 🙂

    Have a great one!

    1. Hi Jody. I hope as you’re reading this you’re feeling better. Black Friday has been a mother/daughter tradition that started when Alyssa was 2. She is 13 now! We don’t really accomplish much but I wouldn’t trade the mother daughter time for anything

She wants to leave the house at 4:00 this year!

Have a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving 🙂

  2. Yum! Love me some acorn squash! Your menu sounds wonderful. This year, we’re whipping up a raw vegan pumpkin pie and roasted parsnips to bring to my parents. They’re vegan so most of the menu is vegan, but they are having a turkey!

    1. Vegan pumpkin pie? Off to find the recipe 🙂

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family!

  3. I’m not the biggest fan of shopping, let alone on Black Friday. But, I do love Thanksgiving.

  4. Love your weekly meal plan. So wish we could pull it off but we are always flying by the seat of our pants except for Wed. when I have a crock pot meal I do every week.

    Your Thanksgiving sounds yummy!

    1. Thanks Angie. I have friends that fly by the seat of their pants too and they can’t imagine living any other way. It would drive me crazy 🙂

  5. Your weekly meal planning is awesome – it’s something I know would actually save me a TON of time during the week if I did the same, but I always end up just winging it most days. I salute your discipline!

    1. Thanks Chris. Eating better and time saving are the reasons I meal plan. It just makes life so much easier.

  6. Ooh, your menu sounds good! As much as I’m happy to not be cooking this year, I kind of missed pulling together the menu plan… but I won’t miss all the work of cooking and cleaning up. 🙂 Enjoy the 10k! I’m running a 5k Thanksgiving morning as well.

    1. I love the planning and cooking but definitely not the cleaning. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

    1. I admit that I’ve been a bit leery to try it. Once I tried chic n’ and didn’t like it at all. This may be my last try of “meat” substitutes. I’ll let you know.

  7. I am amazed and inspired by your meal plan. It’s noon and I don’t know what I’m going to eat for lunch!

  8. I am always in awe of your meal planning. It’s Sunday and I have no idea what I’m making for Thanksgiving. I do have. Turkey Trot 5k, but will be working not runnimg. Have a lovely holiday.

    1. Thank you Debbie. Hopefully you meant working the Turkey Trot and not that you don’t have the day off 🙂
