1. Still thinking about this day as if it were yesterday.
2. My training focus has been on distance for the 12-hour relay. Now, it’s about speed. I have 12 weeks and 1 day until the Air Force Marathon, my goal race. My goal? A sub-2:00 half marathon.
3. I finished reading Scott Jurek’s Eat & Run: My Unlikely Journey to Ultramarathon Greatness this week. Seriously inspiring read. It’s the perfect combination of inspiration, motivation and information. Jurek shares details of his racing/running experiences along with great how-to information on nutrition and training. He even shares some of his recipes!
2 favorite quotes from the book:
I need to measure my progress only against myself. Not others.
We strive toward a goal, and whether we achieve it or not is important, but it’s not what’s most important. What matters is how we move toward that goal. What’s crucial is the step we’re taking now, the step you’re taking now.
How would you redefine your possible? Are you training for a goal race? What is your goal? How are you committing to reach that goal? What are you doing right now? Have you read any good books lately? Any recommendations?
Off for a run before it gets too hot.
Make today great!
