I enjoy words that teach, inspire and make me think.
I can’t remember where, but I came across this quote and it has stuck with me. With all that I’ve learned this year about the connection between gluten and thyroid disease, disordered eating and what a healthy gut means and how important it is, the idea of doctors emphasizing nutrition to cure and prevent disease is a doctor who would write fewer prescriptions.
The panacea of good health.
2 other nutrition quotes that caught my attention:
One of my biggest lessons learned in 2014 → Nutrition isn’t just about eating. It’s about learning to live. ~Patricia Comptton
Interesting and a little scary → About eighty percent of the food on shelves of supermarkets today didn’t exist 100 years ago. ~Larry McCleary

One of the fun parts of creating a weekly menu is flipping through the cookbooks, admiring the photos and recipes [Is that weird?]. Skinnytaste has become a regular on the weekly Conyers’ menu.
I’ve bought fewer cookbooks over the past few years with all the recipes available online, but there are a handful that are worthy of purchasing a hard copy. The Skinnytaste Cookbook is one of those cookbooks!
What quote have you recently come across that has stuck with you? What is one of your greatest lessons learned in 2014?
