New to Me and Gluten Free Giveaway

Blogfest – Best of Show Foods

New to Me and Gluten Free Giveaway #giveawayI recently attended a fabulous convention. Maybe you’ve heard of it, IDEA World Fitness and Blogfest? Thought so. It’s a topic on conversation on many blogs and rightfully so.  Part of the conference was an expo with food vendors giving information on their latest and greatest and the samples? They were everywhere!  Things I bought or will buy…

Food for Life #glutenfree

I’m a long time fan of Food for Life products. Before I started a gluten free diet the only sliced bread I ate was Ezekiel. I was excited to see that they’ve come out with a new sprouted gluten free bread. It’s so good!

Two Moms in the Raw #glutenfree #organic

Simple. Sprouted. Snacking goodness. Granola products were one of the most popular. Every variety you can imagine all with claims of being the best of something. Two Moms in the Raw gets my vote for best granola. Two Moms in the Raw products include granola bars, nut bars, sea crackers, truffles and cereal.

Explore Asian Authentic Cuisine #glutenfree #glutenfreepasta

Looking for a great gluten free pasta? Look no further. Explore Asian Authentic Cuisine has figured out the key to great tasting pasta that is gluten free but doesn’t taste gluten free. And the texture is more like conventional pasta than any other brand I’ve tried. I’m sure I’ll be sharing pasta recipes in the near future!

Navitas Naturals Golden Berries

Navitas introduced me to Dragon Fruit and Golden Berries. If you’re like me you have no idea what Golden Berries are. Goldenberries have been cultivated for thousands of years beginning in the Incan Empire. Also known as “Incan Berries” or “Cape Gooseberries”, these warm-climate fruits are handpicked and sun-dried. Their chewiness and robust sweet and tart flavor make them popular with everyone from gourmet chefs to children.

My Favorite Things Protein Granola Bar #recipe #glutenfree

I used them in this recipe, Favorite Things Protein Granola Bars.

Navitas Naturals Dragonfruit

Have you ever tried Dragonfruit? It’s OMG good! I made the mistake of not buying this on day 1. When I returned the next day they were sold out. It’s that good! Now I’m waiting for my order. Dragonfruit is harvested from a night-blooming cactus that grows in tropical regions including Thailand, Vietnam and South America. Also known as Pitaya, the large delicate fruit that sprout from the arms of the cactus have a strange and colorful appearance. The fruit is created only if the cactus flowers are pollinated at night by bats, moths and nocturnal creatures. Dragonfruit has a sweet flavor similar to pears and kiwifruits.

Daiya Foods #glutenfree #dairyfree

And last but not least, finally a gluten free pizza with a crust that doesn’t have a weird  and unappetizing texture. Daiya provided sample bites of the pizza. Whenever it was put out it was a matter of minutes before the samples were gone. Even people that do not eat a gluten free diet liked it.

  1. Those are so really cool food items there! Sounds like it was once tasty event. I’ve not tried any of these products but the pastas sound intriguing.

  2. I know that I am behind the times on this one. But I recently tried Quest bars this summer and absolutely fell in love with them! Especially the cookies and cream flavor!

  3. not really a “new” product but i recently tried matcha tea powder and liked it a lot! :-) looks like you got to try a bunch of cool items – i’m really curious about the pastas!

  4. I am suspecting a gluten intolerance in myself, so I am trying a gluten free diet. It’s been a little difficult for me as I LOVE my homemade bread and so does my family. I am also a dairy – free vegetarian, so we are experimenting to find recipes that we like. The most recent thing I tried is dandelion root tea. Um… it doesn’t taste great. 😉

    1. Oh, I didn’t pay attention to the contest question…consider this reply and my original comment one entry!!

Daiya cheese is something I just tried about two months ago! I’ve used it in vegan mac and cheese and in making nachos :) I love it!

  5. Haven’t tried any of the ones you’ve showcased, but a new to me food is actually okra and I love it! :)

  7. I tried gluten free crispy choc chip cookies from the fresh market. I think they were trying to copy tates cookies. close but not the same. I’ll spend more to get mytates!!

  8. I’ve recently tried the Quest protein bars and I love them. There’s so many flavors to choose from and they have a great amount of protein and carbs to fuel the hard workouts.

  9. I recently started to incorporate Chia seeds into my diet by adding them to Greek yogurt topped with low fat granola – totally obsessed with this combo lately for breakfast.

  10. I just tried the new Nunaturals cocoa syrup and I really loved it! Thanks for the giveaway opportunity, I’m always looking to try new products.
