Fitness Friday || I’m Challenging #Cathe To Motivate Me for 90 Days

Get In the Best Shape Of Your Life

Health and Fitness Link Up

It’s no secret that my workout room is my favorite room in the house and I love a challenge. I recently talked about not being motivated to cross/strength train and only wanting to run. I tried a new DVD series. After the initial novelty of trying something new the motivation was gone. I tried an all-time favorite series and that didn’t help. You’ve heard the saying that timing is everything? I received the Cathe Xtrain DVD series to review and after a week of reading the manual, previewing the DVDs and trying a few of the workouts I could not have been more pleased and, yes, finally motivated to to do more than just run!

Cathe Xtrain DVD Series

So what do you get when you combine kick butt cardio workouts with the most effective undulating toning workouts, great music, tons of premixes, detailed chapter menus and beautiful filming? A system that stands in a league of its own The XTrain series!

  • 5 Bonus  One Hundred Rep Challenges
  • Bonus Rear Delts Workout
  • Bonus  Barre Workout

  • Vocals Only option on every DVD
  • Free XTrain Online Tools & Workout Cards

My Experience

  • It helps with staying motivated to have strength exercises and cardio workouts I’ve never tried before.
  • Great music which is optional with each workout. I love having the option of vocals only.
  • The videos are energetic and the time goes by quickly.
  • Cathe’s instructions are easy to follow for each move.
  • The flexibility of the series makes it easy for busy schedules.

Cathe DVD Series

  • The option of completing the One Rep Max Test is great for knowing what weight to start with to get results and measuring progress.
  • The support for success! The Workout Manager is a great way to keep track of your workouts and progress and the You Tube video demonstrations help with the exercises I was unfamiliar with for completing the One Rep Max Test.

What’s Next?

Before Monday, I will set my goals, finish setting up my Workout Manager, take pre-photos and measurements and finalize a workout plan for the first week.

Sounds like a great program. I really like that you can have vocals only to use your own music. I have some DVDs that let you turn off the vocals and keep the music but not the other way around.

I really like trying new workouts A lot of mine have been coming from Youtube videos lately :) Sometimes, I just don’t have the hours to go to the gym! That looks like a lot of fun though. I might have to try it out :)

I just tried a Cathe workout for the first time, too. It was a great new option and she does an excellent job of explaining a workout.

I’m really excited to try more of Cathe’s workouts… she is tough! But I love her approach- not too pushy. She makes it all look so easy. Happy Friday!

Seriously, Cathe is amazing. I did her full STS series more than once. I love that she puts together something like this where you can use it as a full rotation or just as wish of course. If you join her site, she does also post monthly workouts often using some of these series.

Like you I also have in the past struggled with motivation to cross train, its so much easier for me to just stick with what I love (running). But this last year having came across a few injuries that could have likely been prevented if I had done both additional cross training and added much more stretching to my workout routines. This year I am all about injury prevention and doing everything correctly, so I love to hear new ideas like this on cross training! Everyone’s got to find a few things they love that can help motivate!! Thanks!

I was injury free last year and most of the year before and I honestly believe one of the biggest reasons was consistent cross training. You’ll find something that motivates you to stick with it. And more than likely it will make you a better runner :) (Yes, it all comes back to running!)

I’m excited to start this week! Mon is a rest day after back to back runs on the weekend but I was tempted to skip the rest just so I can start Cathe. Not a good idea so tomorrow will be day 1.
