As I continue to learn all that I can about nutrition and optimal performance I’m realizing a big part of my ongoing search for optimal nutrition is more than finding what works best for me. I’m fascinated by what we eat and the how it affects how we feel, overall health and performance.

One thing I’ve noticed is that drinking lemon water is consistently recommended. It’s a health tip that is simple and easy to make with surprising health benefits.

Recipe:

Fill a glass with 12 ounces of water (I don’t always use warm water). Add the juice of half a lemon. Enjoy the benefits.

    I order lemon in my water anytime I am eating at restaurants, but always ignore it at home. Great reminder to start doing this more often especially since I drink a ton of water! Thanks :)

    I love lemon water but I don’t drink it nearly enough. # 3 alone is enough to make me go out and buy some lemons right away. Currently I’m on a ginger tea kick. It’s great for digestion.

    I’ve read lots about the benefits if lemon water, especially first thing in the morning, but haven’t tried it consistently. Now that our 2 lemon trees are fruiting I will start drinking this as a way to use them up!

    I have heard this for a long time! I need to finally try it!!! I never use lemon slices out at restaurants though. Heard & read very bad things about those lemon slices at restaurants – stay away from them! :)
