2/23/13 – 5 or 10 miles – England Idlewild Park (Topo Trail Run Series)

March
3/16/13 – 5K – Run For The Green (Dirt Days Trail Series)

April
4/14/13 – 3.6 miles – Ault Park Switch Back (Dirt Days Trail Series)

May
5/5/13 – (Goal Race – Half Marathon) 13.1 or 26.2 miles – Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon (Street)
5/11/13 – (Goal Race – 50K) - 50s For Yo Momma 50K and 50 Mile Race (Trail)
5/19/13 – 5.4 or 10.6 miles – Mt. Airy Forest Ridge Run (Dirt Days Trail Series)

June
6/1/13 – 50K – (Goal Race – 50K) Another Dam 50K Run (Trail)
6/8/13 – 12 hours – Hawthorn Half Day Relay (Trail)

*Final races and distances to be determined based on training and recommendation of my coach.

      Hi Kat. I just finalized the plan and as soon as my husband and I compare our calendars we’ll start registering. The challenge here is winter! Are trail races new to you? They’re a nice break from street running.

    I need to list mine out like that. They’re all kind of jumbled in my brain at the moment. I have all my Spring races sort and registered and a few fall ones too. Summer is a different because like Kat said, it’s so hot here. I will probably do a few 5Ks and sprint triathlons again, but I haven’t registered for them just yet.

      Hi Denise. You have heat and I have snow and ice. I seriously need a treadmill!

      My race calendar spent weeks jumbled in my brain. It feels much less overwhelming once they became a “plan”.

    Woot! Trail races! Running trails are SO much fun.

    I had forgotten the name of the book I read last summer about the ultra marathoner until you included it in your photo. I noticed that you read a trail running magazine. Do you find it helpful? I’m looking for reading material. I think Mommy Run Fast mentioned the RW Big Book of Half Marathons which sounds interesting. I just read their cross training book for runners and picked up tips there.

      Scott Jurek’s book is one of my all time favorites. I also recommend Rich Roll’s book and I recommend the trail running magazine too. Trail running is for the most part new to me and the magazine has been very helpful. My husband prefers the trails so he is my other source of trail running info :)

      RW’s book is great! A lot of updated info on running and being smart about it.

      Hi Angela. This was the first year I didn’t start my calendar with my favorite races! After my 2012 I seemed to be focused on new and different for 2013.

    you already have your WHOLE calendar mapped out— intense. (i’m extremely jealous)
    I have 2 races planned so far, 1 in may and 1 in jun and thats it haha. I need to get on the ball.

      Hi Lisa. After more running in 2012 than I’ve ever done before and all of it on streets, I’m looking forward to the trails.

      A plan makes it all feel more doable. Less overwhelming.

    DANG! That’s a heck of a lot of races you’ve entered into, or maybe it’s just me who hasn’t entered into any yet. I’ll be doing that later on, for now I’m just concentrating on getting my distance up!

    My plans are just to do all 13 5Ks. I’ll figure it out as I go but I know I need to do at least one a month. :-)
