Announcing the first race of the 13 in 2013 Virtual Race Series, Tackle the Miles.
13 in 2013 will be hosting 6 virtual races throughout the year to help you reach your running goal! You can see the complete race calendar here >>>> Virtual Race Calendar
Whether you’re a Ravens fan or a diehard 49er join us for Tackle the Miles Virtual Race and celebrate Super Bowl Sunday. (No you don’t have to run the race on Sunday. You have a week to complete the miles!)
WHO: Anyone that wants to join. You do not have to be a 13 in 2013 participant to join and be eligible for prizes.
WHAT: A virtual race is running a specified distance (you choose the distance.), timing yourself, without actually being present in the race location.
WHEN: Anytime during the week of 2/1-2/8.
WHERE: Pick your favorite local route or jump on the treadmill.
WHY: For the love of running and….PRIZES (multiple winners)!
HOW: Click the image below to register and indicate what distance you will be running (5k, 10k, half marathon, full marathon or trail). You can register for individual races of the series or the entire series of 6 races. Email addresses will only be used to communicate information about the races and to contact the winners.
Official race bibs will be available before 1/30.
After you run, enter your race time HERE no later than Wednesday, 2/13. Your race time will get you +1 entry into the random prize drawing.

+1 for submitting a race day photo by posting on your blog, on the 13 in 2013 FB page (if you’re a 13 in 2013 participant), submitting on Instagram or emailing your photo to jillconyers@gmail.com. Please include your name, name and date of the race if you want your photos posted on the 13 in 2013 Photos Page of my blog.
+1 if the photo contains a football or your favorite team jersey (Specific to Tackle the Miles Virtual Race only.)

This actually looks pretty good, I may have to sign up, but do you know if it’s international? Living in the UK does have its setbacks, so I’m just wondering if that’s possible.
It’ll give me a reason to get a few more running days in, and that’s never a bad thing!

I signed up for the entire series with 5k distances. I am positive I am running a 5k in February. For the later races, if I decide to change distances, will that be allowed? I am really enjoying the 13 in 2013. 1 race completed, 12 to go!
No worries. Just commit to a distance PRIOR to the race and you’ll be fine

Question: Are we allowed to double dip? For example: We have a race scheduled sometime between now and then and want to use that race time as our entry for the Tackle the Miles time?

Hi Beka. Do you mean counting the one run as 2 of your 13? Sorry if I’m misunderstanding. Of course it’s totally up to you but the ultimate goal is to actually run 13 races. Double dipping will only be 12 in the end right? The challenge is about the run, fun, motivation to stay active, and commitment

FUN! If my foot is healed and I get dr’s clearance when I go in, I’ll try run/walking a 5k! Well, it probably will be mostly walking as I get my mobility back in my foot/ankle, but even 10 feet of running sounds amazing right now.

I have a 20 miler and somehow I will turn part of it into my Tackle the Miles. I’m rotating short distances with practicing eating (for endurance) so maybe one of the “laps” will be my virtual portion. It won’t go toward my goal of 13 trail races but it will be fun anyway. Besides I can’t not run my first time hosting a virtual
