We’re on week 3 of the challenge. Is menu planning beginning to feel like part of your weekly routine? Is it getting easier to plan for the week and stick to it? Do you feel like the the benefits are worth the time it takes?
This week my menu is planned around traveling to Bethlehem, PA to run and enjoy Runner’s World Half Marathon and Festival. Traveling makes it a little more difficult to plan a menu and stick to it. Actually, there isn’t much of a plan at all, but I do travel with my own snacks. It just makes things easier and I know for sure that I will always have convenient and healthy snack options. When I travel I’m pretty good about balancing my regular eating habits with an indulgence or 2. Will I only eat the snacks that I brought with me? Probably not, but it gives me the option of a healthy snack to balance indulging during the trip.
On the menu for this week…
The winner of the Week 2 Mila giveaway is…Nancy @ Living the Dream!
This week’s giveaway is sponsored by Daily Dose of Green.
Daily Dose Of Green is an exclusive sampling program providing our members the opportunity to try the very best, premium Green products before purchasing the full size versions.
I was given the wonderful opportunity to try the September DDOG box and loved it. How often have you bought a full size product that sits unused or is thrown away because you didn’t like it or it wasn’t what you expected? I love the idea of sampling products before buying the full size. Daily Dose of Green is economically smart, less wasteful and a great way to try new products that I might not would have tried otherwise. I will definitely buy some of the full size products from the September box. Jem Fruit Southwest Almond Slices were amazing and the Olive this World Blood Red Orange Olive Oil is a great recipe alternative to basic EVOO. Visit Daily Dose of Green to find out more about brands, how it works and joining!

Good luck on the Half Marathon!
I also like to be on the non-plan plan when it comes to travel, except that I also bring my own snacks. I find that this helps keep hangriness at bay, especially since we typically eat at odd times when traveling and may go a lot longer between meals than normal. In essence, snacks help keep the trip fun and argument free

Ali, that’s exactly why I take snacks. The odd times and longer times between meals. Def helps keep trips fun

Now at week three, menu planning is definitely part of my routine again, and it is working out SO well. Makes me wonder why I ever quit doing it! It is definitely worth the time it takes.

I actually really love meal planning and prepping all of my food for the week……there’s something soothing about knowing exactly what I’ll be eating and it takes the guesswork out of it!
Good luck with your races. I know how menu planning goes out the window when travel comes into it – hence not joining in the last couple weeks!! But normally it’s such a habit for me!

You need to stop posting those outfits because I’m about to breakdown and go shopping LOL. I don’t plan meals because it’s just me and the hubby but I will give it a whirl next week.

Oh the half is going to be so much fun! I do the same thing; I always bring lots of snacks! I usually go straight to the store as well when I get to where I am going and buy some fruit and healthy things so I am not eating out every single meal.
I think meal planning to a certain extent has been part of my life for a while. Otherwise, I end up spending too much money and eating bad things!

Good luck this weekend!
I was commenting this morning to Laura that I wasn’t going to cook very much because the week was busy. Then, when I sat down to make a menu, I realized that I really could cook more often and I’m really happy about that.
Thanks for hosting this challenge. It’s so helpful to me.
And I love DDOG!
