Welcome to this week’s WIAW. For the month of June we’re sharing sensible snacks and the snack attacks along with what’s on the menu.
What I Ate Tuesday, June 5
Morning coffee.
Green Monster Smoothie. For the 30-Day Plant-Based Gluten Free Challenge I made a change to my morning smoothie recipe by taking out the greek yogurt and adding 1/3 cup gluten free oats.
Fruit salad morning snack. Grapes. Blueberries. Nectarines. Strawberries.
Quinoa Taco Salad. I added black beans to the Gluten Free Goddess‘ recipe. Along with a few Food Should Taste Good multigrain tortilla chips.
Dinner. A busy week night with kids’ activities so I grabbed a salad at Subway and added walnuts, white raisins and blueberries. It tasted even better than I expected.
Snacks! It’s the salty snacks that I want most often and sweets occasionally. So, what have I been snacking on lately? Mostly fruits and nuts or a combination of the 2. Blueberries and strawberries have been a daily snack for the past 2 weeks. My 2 favorite bars, Larabar and KIND. Mary’s Gone Crackers for a slightly salty crunchy snack. Oh She Glows’ Endurance Crackers with the Hummus That Changed Everything. Yum! And the variety of dried fruit, nuts and seeds that comes in NatureBox makes snacking easy.
What’s on your menu this week? Do you tend to crave salty or sweet snacks? What are your favorites?
All those snacks are right up my alley! Nuts, dried or fresh fruit, homemade or brands-I-trust granola bars, plus a little bit of dark chocolate, and that sums up my snacking most days! 🙂
Thanks Laura! All natural tasty and healthy. Can’t beat finding that in snacks 🙂
I love Mary’s Gone Crackers and Kind Bars!:)
Me too. I just tried the herb. The rosemary is delicious. My kids even like them!
Everyting looks delicious!
Thanks Fran 🙂
I just bought two costco boxes of Mary Gone Crackers Monday – I love those things!! I posted a picture of my starbucks mug next to my computer today too. 🙂
quinoa taco salad=genius! must try!!!
You’ll love it and it makes enough for leftovers 🙂
Those snacks all look great and are pretty much what I have too (along with carrots, dried fruit and water!) I tried those Mary’s crackers the other day; they are really good! They taste great with blue cheese (sorry, I know you are not eating the dairy these days, but if you have friends over…) I usually crave salty snacks over sweet ones, but a nice piece of fruit always hits the spot!
You’re right! I’ve been on fruit binge lately enjoying the spring/summer fruits.
Great looking GF taco’s. I’m making my quinoa black bean salad for dinner tonight! I too like to snack on Kind Bars, I love sweet and salty, great combo. But I tend to have more of a sweet tooth!
Thanks Lisa. Have you tried the Larabar Uber bars? Yum!
So clean and colorful! Your meal plan ereally seems on point!I just had quinoa for lunch!
Thanks Jess! I’ve been amazed by how many different recipes work great with quinoa.
I love the colour variety in your meals! It looks like a party over there! Happy WIAW!

I love Oh She Glows Endurance Crackers! Perfect snack.
I tend to crave salty all the way!
Hi Angela. Salty beats sweet hands down!
Yummy eats!! Especially love the snacks from Nature Box. Awesome!
Ok you are one of the few healthy living bloggers I can honestly say eats appetizing food. Everything looked delicious!!!
Thank you Linda. I try. If I didn’t I would either not stick with it or I would and would mindlessly snack because the meals weren’t satisfying. Healthy doesn’t have to mean boring 🙂
Really lovely snacks you have there. I admire your discipline and focus on your diet. They all look yummy!
Thank you Jessie 🙂
