Fitness Friday || Workouts. Running. On the Menu.

The week so far…

For the record, I’m on Day 82 of the P90X2 90-Day Challenge!!!

Sunday – Ab Ripper (alternating the original P90X Ab Ripper with X2 Ab Ripper), Recovery and Mobility (loving the foam roller!)
Monday –  PAP Upper, X2 Ab Ripper and a doctor’s appointment to confirm no stress fracture!!
Tuesday – PAP Lower, Ab Ripper, back to running…6 miles!
Wednesday – Yoga
Thursday – Recovery and Mobility, X2 Ab Ripper, 5 miles :)

Coming up to finish the week…

Friday – this morning’s workout before work will be PAP Lower and Ab Ripper, after work 5 miles
Saturday - the plan is PAP Upper, X2 Ab Ripper

Starting next week with…

Sunday – Running the  Ohio River Road Runners Club Marathon and Half Marathon with Chad. No plans or thoughts for a PR for this one. Running for the joy of it. I’m hoping for more beautiful weather :)

On the menu…

Continuing with what I’m no longer referring to as a vegetarian challenge but a lifestyle change that I’m pretty sure is here to stay.

First, I was shocked when Chad suggested that he try replacing a meal with juicing 3-4 times this week. I love the fact that it was his idea! For the sake of ease we decided dinner would be the juiced meal. Then I suggested (because I just can’t help myself) that he let me make his lunch this week. Knowing it would be meatless he agreed! It’s going well. In fact Chad commented on how much he likes having the juice for dinner.

Recipes…

For What I Ate Wednesday I included a few new recipes that I will be making again. Recipes I’m going to try are Southwest Stuffed Spaghetti Squash and California Veggie Sandwich.

And my current new-favorite salad, Martha Stewart’s Mediterranean Chopped Salad.

Can I say just one more time how happy I am to NOT have a stress fracture and to be running again :) Chad thought I needed a new running-photo pose after my 6-mile run. What do you think?

How was your week? What are your plans for this weekend? What are your on-the-menu favorites from this week?

Time to link up!

My daughter has been sick, so I haven’t done much this week. I did manage to do a long run yesterday, which was nice! We have a busy weekend filled with dentist & eye doc appointments and a birthday party which I am hosting on Sunday. I hope to get in a couple of easy runs.
The chopped salad and california veggie sandwich sound delicious.
    Enjoy your weekend!

That salad looks great, I’ve been on a salad kick lately so I might have to give it a try. Glad the run was good and you are back :-)

how exciting to try to stay vegetarian. I think about it…my 20 year old niece has been one since she was 11! the salad looks delish! I cannot believe you are on day 82 of P90x! WOW, can you tell a difference?

Hi Susie. Yes I can tell a difference but not as much as when I did the original P90X 90 challenge. I’ve loved X2. I will continue beyond the 90 days but not at the same level of intensity. My focus now is pace. I want a half PR! I’m sure I will do the 90 day challenge again some time this year.

Good luck on Sunday! This weekend I have the Big Climb. Yikes! It always kills me but should only take under 15 minutes. I can handle 15 minutes of torture for a good cause:) Have a great weekend!

I love your running photo pose. Your arms look buff! I bet you are super stoked to be running again! Have fun at your race! It will be a good chance to just go with it and not worry about results. Just think of it as a fun run!

Thanks Kyria! It feels so good to be running again! Just going with it is my goal. It’s an approach that is not in my nature but I’m going to try. I think at this point I really NEED to do this.

      Have a great weekend!

Thanks Jamie. Chad always goes along with whatever but this time he is talking about it, feeling a difference and really getting what I’ve been talking about for the last few years.

      Have a great weekend!

I’m so glad you got good running news this week! And I love that Chad is participating in the vegetarian challenge with you. My husband does too (at least the meals I’m making, like dinner) and it makes it so much easier that way!

wow – you are rocking the P90X – I admire your dedication! I don’t know if I could sell my husband on a regular no meat meal. He’s such a meat and potatos guy. Somehow I would have to make him think it’s his idea! :) You’ve had a great week working out! Good luck in the half!

Hi Andrea and welcome to FF! I haven’t done a total juice fast yet but want to. I have a few favorites if you want more but my favorite go to juice right now is 2 c fresh spinach, 1/2 bunch kale, 1 pear, 1 apple, 1 celery stalk, 1 cucumber. If you want a sweeter juice try a cup of pineapple instead of the pear or for a less sweet try 1/2 c blueberries instead of the pear.

Keep in touch. I’d love to hear more about your fast.
