Fitness Friday || 2012 Race Calendar and Giveaway

In November I posted about my plan to run 12 half marathons in 2012 aka Twelve In Twenty Twelve. Plans have been underway with sponsors, coming up with a race calendar, travel arrangements, and working around work and family schedules. My race calendar for 2012 [if all goes as planned] with a few extra half marathon options (preferences in bold) in case life decides to interfere with my plans. It doesn’t look like MCM will work for 2012 so I still need to add a full marathon to my calendar.

  4. My fitness plans for 2012? Run. Well, I’m still working on details! And, I am going to quit my gym and set up a home fitness area. I think with the money I save on not going to the gym, I will be able to buy some great fitness items like a weights, kettlebells, etc.

    And, honestly, you gave me the idea to quit the gym. I think it’s going to work out SO much better! Very excited!

    In 2012 I want to run! I have always wanted to be a runner and now that I have found a generous community on the blogosphere and the right tools I am ready! I want at least two half marathons under my belt. One in the spring (Country Music 1/2 Marathon in April) and one in the fall (TBA). From what I have learned from others I proabably will get addicted and do even more than those! Have a Happy Holidays Jill and ladies :)

  8. My health and fitness plans for next year include staying fit for 5 half marathons and making good food choices for that training, not stressing about a pound here or there and maintaining balance with my family and my fitness goals.

  11. Great race plans! I am a planner and usually on top of these things, but haven’t gotten past March for 2012. I do hope to spend more time working on speed, as that’s something I’ve neglected the last few years, with pregnancy, bfeeding, etc. Your list is inspiring!

    For 2012 i plan to add pilates to my routine 1x a week, i am going to work on my long distance running and i plan (hope?) to add at least 2 lbs of muscle this year.

  31. Fingers crossed….My hubby and I will be doing MCM next fall after having to defer this year’s entry (my injury). I also plan to PR on a half marathon in the spring. Again, fingers crossed! You have some great races planned! Good luck! Look forward to hearing about each.

  38. My goal in 2012 is to run a 5k, ride a 60 mile bike ride, and lose the rest of my unhappy weight to finally be at my happy weight.

  44. My husband and I were going to run the Rite Aid Cleveland Half Marathon, but I think we’ve changed our minds (we technically have until January 6th to decide since I refuse to pay more than $65) and are going to do a local duathlon instead.

  53. fitness plans for 2012- I don’t have all my races exactly planned- however I started the year with 22 states completed for my 50 1/2s in 50 states, and I’d like to finish the year around 35. B/n now and June I have at least 1 half mary a month planned. As it gets closer to spring I will plan out the rest of the year

  55. During my run this morning, my friend told me about you. Too funny…I’m also doing 12 half marathons or greater this year…and I’m actually not doing any of the ones you’ve listed. They are my favorite distance. Enjoy!
